Grants Available 2021

SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority Of Ireland) offer a number of different home schemes that help assist in upgrading your home/property. These schemes offer grants for home insulation, heating upgrades, ventilation and windows/doors. 

Stages

  • Surveyor visits the property to measure building and also explaining to the homeowner the various grants available.
  • Application form to be filled out
  • Once the application form has been processed work can be carried out
  • After work is completed quality check are carried out by CDM Contracts and possibly SEAI to ensure NSAI Standards have been met

National Home Retrofit Scheme

This new government grant scheme is designed to encourage the development of One-Stop-Shops and engage groups of private households, registered Housing Associations and Local Authorities who wish to participate in delivering energy efficiency upgrades, specifically in domestic buildings.

Better Energy Homes

The Better Energy Homes scheme offers help to homeowners and landlords whose homes were built and occupied before 2006. The grants available include insulation for cavity walls, attic/loft, and internal and external insulation. The heating and solar thermal grants offer values of €700 and €1,200, while the BER (Better Energy Rating) grant offers €50 towards your BER assessment.

Warmer Homes Scheme

The Warmer Homes scheme helps improve homes for vulnerable people at risk of energy poverty. The scheme assists in making homes cheaper to run, warmer, and healthier for homeowners.

The home improvements offered include;

  • Attic/Cavity
  • EWI/Heating (if qualify for it)
  • draught proofing
  • low energy light bulbs
  • lagging jackets
  • energy advice

Warmth and Wellbeing

The Warmth and Wellbeing scheme aims to improve the living conditions of people living with chronic respiratory disease. The scheme offers improvements for your attic and wall insulation, ventilation, external wall insulation and boiler replacement, including heating controls and window and door replacement if required.

ProEnergy Homes

ProEnergy Homes is a unique credit union initiative supported by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) in association with Retrofit Energy Ireland Ltd. (REIL). The scheme is available for members of participating Credit Unions to help improve the energy efficiently of their home. It offers grants for insulating roof or walls, upgrading heating and energy-saving improvements.

Better Energy Communities

Better Energy Communities is our national retrofit initiative with grant support of up to €28 million for 2021. We support new approaches to achieving energy efficiency in Irish communities. Upgrades can take place across building types to reduce energy use and costs throughout the community. We aim to deliver energy savings to homeowners, communities, and private sector organisations. All projects should be community oriented with a cross-sectoral approach, and you must show that you can sustainably finance the proposed project.
