The ProEnergy Home Loan is a unique initiative supported by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) where up to 35% of a grant is made available to HSSCU members who borrow for qualifying works to improve the energy efficiency of their home. This homeowner availed of the ProEnergy Homes Scheme which is a 35% grant with a low rate loan. By providing this upgraded measure it will significantly decrease the homeowner's bills due to reduced heat loss. The combined Attic Insulation, Triple Glazed Door, Oil Heating Upgrade and External Wall Insulation has resulted in heating cost savings of up to 70%. A successful post BER Rating of B1 was achieved for this home.
